Abstract

|
Objective : Based on the Model of Human Occupation(MOHO), the aim of this study was to identify the volition and communication and interaction Skills on of elderly person with dementia.
Methods : The group activity programs were applied once in two week for 16 weeks for an 88 year-old patient with dementia. After recording the video at the first and last session, the recorded scenes were evaluated and rated by Volitional Questionnaire(VQ) and The Assessment of Communication and Interaction Skills(ACIS). The volition, Communication and Interaction Skills in the first session Compared to the last session.
Results : After conducting group activities, VQ and ACIS were examined. As a result, it was confirmed that most of the items improved the volition, communication and interaction skills
Conclusion : According to our study, VQ and ACIS are useful tool to closely evaluate one’s volition, communication and interaction skills. It could be suggestive to use VQ and ACIS in dementia care field.
